Spinning

Recently I have started itching to spin again (like I don't have enough other things to do). I spun in high school on a homemade wheel similar to this one, but it is long gone. After some brief research it looks like a "real" wheel will cost me around $350 (and that's the lower end) so I guess I'll have to start up with a drop spindle (which start around $10-15).

How interesting! Talk about homemade... Can you buy raw fibers, or are you thinking of keeping a sheep? In all seriousness, this sounds fascinating.

Yeah, we're not keeping a sheep. I'll have to put my foot down about that. I may even speak my piece and count to three.

Aw, come on! Why couldn't we keep a sheep or two on the balcony?

Fiber is available in many different stages of "readiness for spinning": raw, cleaned, carded (combed out), dyed and undyed, etc. SpinKnitters in Country Village has a small selection of fibers if you want to go take a peek sometime just to see what I'm talking about.
